UK TV Premiere Dates: 2025 Calendar

Fans of precision-engineered action-thrillers in which characters leap out of exploding speedboats and scream things like “secure the perimeter” into walkie talkies, your time has finally come. First up, The Night Agent season two comes to Netflix on Thursday January 23, and with it, all kinds of enjoyable nonsense involving the FBI’s Peter Sutherland and the top-secret Night Action super-spy programme he earned a place on by the end of season one.

Joining it is maths-based (yes) action-thriller Prime Target on Apple TV+, in which a Cambridge mathematics genius discovers an algorithm that threatens to destroy the world or something of that ilk. And if cerebral mysteries based around high-concept ideas are your thing, then Severance two has started on Apple TV+.

After the Star Trek: Section 31 movie arrives, there’s more Yellowjackets, Reacher, Cobra Kai and The White Lotus, arriving on streaming in Feb, along with new six-part UK drama A Thousand Blows, from the creator of Peaky Blinders. As well as all that, here’s a big look ahead to the new British drama coming up, all the big returning British series this year, and for crime fans, a list of the new UK crime dramas to anticipate in 2025.
